OUR HERITAGE
Goodhope has experience in developing and operating plantations that dates back over a century. We started as part of Carson Cumberbatch, a Sri Lankan investment and trading house, who originally invested in tea and rubber plantations in Malaysia and Sri Lanka in the early 1900's. Recognizing an opportunity for growth in a vital sector, Carsons made a pioneering move to palm oil, converting their plantations in Malaysia, expanding further afield in 1996 into Indonesia through the acquisition of PT Agro Indomas. PT Agro Indomas commenced operations with just over 12,000 hectares of land to develop.
However, today, the Group's landholdings have since expanded to 157,889 hectares in Indonesia and Malaysia.
