OUR BUSINESS
Goodhope aims to establish a presence across the palm oil value chain, from plantation ownership and palm oil milling to edible oils refining and specialty fats production. We also focus on supply chain management and in securing timely and cost effective access to key input materials. In addition, Goodhope has also made inroads into related/adjacent business areas, in order to strengthen its position towards ultimately becoming a fully integrated group.
Oil Palm Plantations Business focus:
We develop, cultivate and manage oil palm plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia. Our operations also include oil extraction in the form of milling. We realize that to sustain our growth in the long term, we must focus on expansion not only in Indonesia, and hence are in the process of evaluating other regions like Central and West Africa for further expansion opportunities.
Edible Oils & Fats Business focus:
We currently have edible oils and specialty fats manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and India. We are simultaneously looking out for opportunities to strengthen the business segment through refining capacity enhancement, value addition to our product range, increase in distribution network and offering a wider range of customized specialty fats products to our customers.
Value Chain Adjacent Businesses focus:
To focus on greater productivity and cost management across all Group segments, we must also look at other inputs and services that would enable synergies to be obtained, whilst making Goodhope's business model more resilient and sustainable for the future.
As a first step, we have set up our own Business Process Management and IT shared services hub in Colombo, Sri Lanka, catering to the Group's requirements. This segment works towards cost optimization, through the provision of business systems and services, ranging from IT infrastructure to integrated business solutions, and allows us to reduce business process costs and enhance efficiencies for the Group.
Further, evaluations are being done to enter into related businesses such fertilizer, seed breeding, analytical laboratory services, food related R&D and marketing research, all to support both the oil palm plantations and edible oils & fats business segments.

Sustainability is an important element of our operating model, and an integral part of how we function. We adopt a balanced approach in our business operations by giving equal emphasis to economic, social and environmental sustainability and act as a responsible corporate citizen across all regions that we touch through our operations.
