VALUE CHAIN ADJACENT BUSINESSES
As the operations of Goodhope expand in the oil palm plantations and edible oils & fats business segments, the Group intends to focus on securing access to ensure timely and cost effective sourcing of key inputs and support functions to ensure sustained quality and consistency across our value chain.
Goodhope also plans to invest on securing access to other key input materials, such as fertilizers, and the enhancement of agronomy management and support through capability building in analytical laboratory services.
We place an emphasis on productivity and cost management as part of our business strategy in order to ensure higher production yields and lower production costs. In order to enhance production yields in our oil palm plantations business segment, we have implemented initiatives such as sourcing of high-yield seedlings, implementing effective fertilizer regimes, crop protection strategies, mechanisation of crop evacuation and worker management programmes.
Goodhope will work towards cost optimisation through our business systems and services segment, which provides support to both core business segments. This serves as a value chain adjacent business, providing a multitude of services that encompass IT infrastructure to integrated business solutions, and allows us to reduce business process costs and enhance efficiencies.
